The Buzzcocks are an English Punk band formed in 1976 in Bolton by vocalist Howard Devoto and guitarist Pete Shelley.  The same year the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned and Generation X formed.

They are considered as having a key role on the Manchester music scene, the independent record label movement and hence in the indie rock, the punk rock and power pop.

Howard Devoto left the band one year after it was founded, Shelley keep on with it releasing 3 albums and several singles like "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" which became a hit in UK.

The band split in 1981. From that time the band led by Pete Shelley have rejoin and disbanded from time to time till now they are active touring.
